The Road to Fame: A member of Mick Jones’s the London SS, Keith went on to join the Clash in 1976, but left shortly after their first few concerts to form Public Image Ltd. (PiL), which was fronted by Johnny Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols. After recording four albums over a five-year period with the band, Keith split from PiL and completed a series of solo EP’s.
The Music: Albums with PiL: Public Image (1978), Metal Box (1979), Paris Au Printemps (1980), The Flowers of Romance (1981).
Did you know? Members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fishbone, and Thelonious Monster guested on Keith’s second EP.
He has kept a low profile since leaving PiL, and was last seen in 1997 working in the studio with original Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock.
